An easy-going five days

The tour sells this as a “pure sightseeing” tour (純玩團): entrance tickets included, roomy time at every stop, two late-morning starts, and the same riverside hotel all four nights — so you unpack once.

Why this tour

  1. Priority at Bà Nà Hills

Premium entry, a return cable car through the WowPass Silver priority lane and priority restaurant entry at the ~1,500 m “French fairy-tale hill town”.

  2. Four hours in Hội An

All entry tickets covered for the UNESCO old town: the Japanese Covered Bridge, a centuries-old merchant house and the Cantonese Assembly Hall.

  3. Basket boats, two to a boat

In the Cẩm Thanh water-coconut forest near Hội An you glide through the palms in a round bamboo thúng chai and watch the fishermen’s net-casting show.

  4. Food chosen with care

Seafood hotpot with half a lobster each, a DIY Vietnamese dinner, and a seafood steam hotpot or Michelin Bib Gourmand vegetarian dinner depending on your date.

  5. River- or sea-view balcony

All four nights at Wyndham Danang Golden Bay, where the Hàn River meets the sea — upgraded room, rooftop gold-tiled pool and a glass of house-brewed beer.

Day 1: Touchdown by the Hàn River

Hong Kong Da Nang Love Bridge Dinner Hotel

Da Nang’s Dragon Bridge after dark — you’ll see it from the Love Bridge on your first evening.

Time on the ground approximate · travel time not shown

  • Flight ~2 h
  • Love Bridge 45 min
  • Dinner 1 h

One of Vietnam’s major cities (the tour calls it the third-largest; by population it ranks a little lower) mixes Vietnamese character with French-era flair, heritage sites and superb seafood. Its clear blue water and long, clean coastline have earned it the nickname “Hawaii of the East”.

  1. The white carp-dragon statue on the Love Bridge pier, with Da Nang’s riverfront behind

Afternoon, or after dark on a late flight · about 45 min

Love Bridge Cầu tàu Tình Yêu情人橋

A landmark pier on the Hàn River’s east bank, lined with heart-shaped lamps and guarded by the Carp-Dragon statue (Cá chép hóa rồng). Take in the river views and look across to the Dragon Bridge.

The tour lists this as an afternoon stop, but outbound flights leave Hong Kong as late as about 18:50 (Vietnam is an hour behind). On a later flight, expect to see it after dark.

Cầu Rồng · Dragon Bridge 龍橋 seen from outside

The 666-metre steel dragon arching over the Hàn glows after dark. Local tip: on Saturday and Sunday nights its head breathes fire and water at 9 pm. A 25 Oct 2026 departure lands on a Sunday — but 9 pm is outside the group programme.

Once a cool summer retreat for French colonial society, Bà Nà is now a resort of theme parks and hotels where castles, European façades and cobbled lanes appear at every turn. You ride up on a single-rope cable car line 5,042 m long — once listed by Guinness as the world’s longest.

In the water-coconut forest east of Hội An, you board a round bamboo basket boat — thúng chai, 筲箕船 — two guests per boat, and drift through the water-coconut palms while fishermen demonstrate casting nets and fishing, and show off basket-boat tricks.

    • Lunch here: seafood hotpot with half a lobster per person
    • Suggested tip: VND 50,000 per boat (about HKD 15)

The tour names this stop only as 迦南島. Before you go

Weather, family & money

Late October is the wet season on Vietnam’s central coast. Here’s what that means for this trip, plus the basics for travelling with children and paying your way.

Oct–Dec season

Rain, floods & typhoons

  • Expect rain most days. Da Nang averages about 20 rainy days in both October and November, with highs around 29.5 °C and lows around 23.5 °C in October.
  • Hội An can flood. Its rainy season runs roughly September to January; heavy rain can flood the riverside streets (Nguyễn Thái Học Street often floods) and disrupt sightseeing.
  • Basket boats on Day 3 may be cut short or cancelled in high water or storms unverified.
  • Bà Nà Hills (~1,500 m) is cooler than the coast; in wet weather the top may be in cloud or fog unverified.

Pack a light rain jacket or poncho, a compact umbrella, quick-dry shoes and a zip bag for your phone.

Families

Kids, strollers & heat

  • Strollers: Marble Mountains has a lift, but expect steps and uneven cave floors; a baby carrier is easier there and at Bà Nà’s hilly lanes unverified.
  • Pagodas: at Linh Ứng (Day 4) and in temples, cover shoulders and knees general etiquette, unverified.
  • Heat & sun: even in the wet season it’s warm and humid (about 84% average humidity in Oct). Bring hats, sunscreen and water bottles, and plan rests — some restaurants aren’t air-conditioned.

Money

Đồng, cash & tips

HKD 1 ≈ 3,290 VNDso VND 50,000 ≈ HKD 15 · VND 100,000 ≈ HKD 30
Rate checked 16 Oct 2026 (open.er-api.com) — rough guide only.

  • Carry small VND notes for the suggested tips: VND 50,000 per hotel room (porter), per basket boat, and for your therapist if you add the massage.
  • Cash and ATMs: change a little money before you go or at the airport, and use bank ATMs in Da Nang; check your card’s overseas fees first unverified.

Phone & power

Grab, data & plugs

  • Plugs: Vietnam uses Type A and C sockets (sometimes B; Type F plugs often fit), at 220 V, 50 Hz. Hong Kong’s three-pin Type G plugs won’t fit, so bring an adapter.
  • Grab (ride-hailing and food delivery) operates in Vietnam. Install it and add a payment method before you fly.
  • Data: check your Hong Kong plan’s roaming rates, or buy a travel eSIM before departure (check your phone supports eSIM). Hotel Wi-Fi is free, but coverage depends on the hotel.
