About this stopWhat to expect

The hills are named Kim (metal), Thủy (water), Mộc (wood), Hỏa (fire) and Thổ (earth). They were made a National Special Relic in 2019.

On Thủy Sơn, temples and caves shelter Buddhist statues, with postcard views over the other four peaks.

Good to knowTips

  • Strollers: the lift saves the climb, but expect steps and uneven, possibly slippery cave floors — a baby carrier is easier (unverified).
  • Temples: cover shoulders and knees (general etiquette, unverified).
  • Shoes with grip help on damp steps in the wet season.
